Our Team

Peter serves as Chairman of Wareing & Company and was formerly the Co-Founder and General Partner of Wareing, Athon & Company, a Houston-based private equity firm formed in 1989. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Gulf Coast Pre-Stress and Texas Concrete Partners, both of which manufacture concrete products for transportation and petrochemical infrastructure along the Gulf Coast.

Peter previously served on the Board of CenterPoint Energy (NYSE: CNP) from 2005 to 2020 and was lead independent director. He also served on the boards of Texas Cold Storage in Ft. Worth, Union Ice Company in Los Angeles and Nordic Cold Storage in Atlanta. Additionally, Peter currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Texas Children's Hospital, the largest pediatric hospital in the United States.

Peter's past civic involvements include serving on the Boards of the Greater Houston Partnership, the Advisory Council at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business, Covenant Houston Texas, Chairman of The Houston Parks Board, The Children's Fund, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Inc., Texas Hearing Institute, Young Life Southwest and Church of the Apostles, Houston.

Mr. Wareing received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas in 1973 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1977. Peter and his wife Elizabeth live in Houston and have three children and twelve grandchildren.

Billy is Managing Partner of Wareing & Company where he oversees the Firm's investment activities and day-to-day operations and is President & CEO of American Pre-Stress Concrete, a manufacturing company providing concrete products for transportation and petrochemical infrastructure along the Gulf Coast. Billy also serves as Co-Founder and GP of Bluebonnet Affordable Housing, a Houston-based real estate fund.

Prior to his current roles, Billy worked in middle market private equity as an operator and investor for over 15 years. Billy also served 12 years in the United States Army Reserves for the 1st Brigade, 75th Division based at Ellington Field, TX. Billy previously served on the board of Trustees of the Texas Hearing Institute, The Scurlock Foundation and currently serves on the board of the National Christian Foundation, Houston, and is Chairman of Young Life Houston, Southwest Region. Billy graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in American Studies and earned his MBA from Columbia Business School.

Billy and his wife, Reed, attend the Story Church and live in Houston. They enjoy tennis, golf and traveling with their four children.

Matt Brejot is a Managing Director at Wareing & Company where he is responsible for originating, evaluating, executing and managing investments for the Firm. Matt has over 10 years of private equity experience focused on the lower middle market. His prior experience includes working at Main Street Capital Corporation, Turnbridge Capital Partners and Pelican Energy Partners, where his responsibilities included sourcing, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities and working with portfolio companies on post-closing value creation strategies. Matt started his career in investment banking at RBC Capital Markets.

Matt received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas. He lives in Houston, TX with his wife.

RC is a Senior Associate on the investment team of Wareing & Company. Prior to joining Wareing & Company, RC was at Capstreet and Main Street Capital, where he evaluated and managed a portfolio of investments in lower middle market businesses across a wide range of industries.

RC received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Fellows and Finance with minors in Math and Energy Commerce from Baylor University. RC and his wife live in Houston, TX.

Chris serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Wareing & Company where he oversees the firm's financial strategy, fund management and investor relations. He is responsible for financial reporting, capital allocation and risk management, and plays an integral role in debt sourcing for acquisitions, fund administration, and executing the Firm's broader financial goals.

Prior to his position at Wareing & Company, Chris accumulated extensive experience advising private equity firms and family offices on financial strategy and due diligence. He has led the creation and management of finance departments at the fund level, conducted buy-side diligence for acquisitions and participated in both bolt-on and platform company transactions. His work spans various industries, including healthcare, real estate, industrial services and energy. Chris has also provided CFO services to both private equity firms and family offices, managing investor reporting, capital deployment, and fund performance, while also advising on both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. He currently resides in Houston with his wife and daughter.

Laura provides accounting and payroll support services to Wareing & Company. Over the course of her career, Laura has provided accounting services to both the Wareing and Blanton family offices and worked as an auditor in the international banking industry and with Deloitte & Touche.

Laura received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. Laura and her husband reside in Houston, TX and have two adult children.

Rosie serves as Executive Assistant to Billy Wareing and Peter Wareing and provides administrative support to the Wareing & Company team. She has over 20 years of experience in supporting executives and managing office operations.

Rosie received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She resides in Katy, Texas with her husband and three children.
